A cool, crisp whisper stirs the air,
The final leaves float down like gold,
The world strips down its autumn flair
To wrap itself in winter's fold.
Welcome, November, softly brought
On northern winds and frosted dawn,
A quiet space for lingering thought
When summer's bright display is gone.
The hearth grows warm, the shadows long,
The stars shine sharp in twilight skies;
Nature sings its twilight song
As ember-light begins to rise.
Here is the breath before the freeze,
A grateful calm, a restful grace,
A gentle hush among the trees
To gather warmth in this stillness space.
So, step inside and bar the door,
Let candlelight chase dark away,
With thankful hearts for gifts we store
To warm us till the brighter day.
