When Shadows Speak

On Halloween, the world makes room for masks, moonlight, and the mysterious. Yet some of our deepest mysteries are the parts of ourselves we keep out of sight. Tonight, imagine that even your shadow has a story to tell.

If your shadow could speak for one night, what truth would it whisper that you have never dared to say aloud?

Write a poem in the voice of your shadow. Let it be tender, haunting, defiant, or unexpectedly hopeful. You might begin with: “When the moon found my shadow, it said…”

Your turn: Share your poem, a few lines, or a reflection in the comments below. You do not have to reveal anything personal—imagination is welcome here. Let’s fill the Archives with voices that deserve to be heard.
